Curriculum Framework
The establishment of the necessary studies to the Master's Degree course is expressed in credits, which match 15 hours of scheduled activities, including classes, seminars, laboratory or fieldwork and individual studies. The student will have to accomplish:
- 36 credits in disciplines;
- 64 credits in Master's Dissertation.
The student will have a maximum period of 18 months to complete the credits in disciplines, and may fulfill a maximum of one third of the total credits required for the Masters (12 credits) outside the Program, as long as they are accepted by the Master's advisor and have a maximum of two years before enrollment in the Course and approved by CPG.
All the disciplines taken at PPGPE, as a special student, may be recognized, as long as they are attended in up to two years before the enrolment as regular student and approved by CPG.
In order to obtain the Professional Master's Degree in Education, it will be required a defense of masters based in research developed by the student and that proves understanding of his or her area concepts and methods. The defense of masters only can be done after the accomplishment of every discipline credits (at the very least 36 credits) by the student and this last one has been approved in the Proficiency Test in Foreign Language and in the Qualification Exam. The defense of master's will have to occur within 24 (twenty-four) months after the courses enrollment.
